Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail

For the transport of certain hazardous substances, approval or permit is required in addition to the general regulations for transport of dangerous goods. This applies, among other things, to fireworks and explosive substances and articles consisting of samples or classified as N.O.S. ("not otherwise specified"). Approval or permit is issued by the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency (MCF).

For transport of radioactive substances, class 7, a permit from the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) is required in most cases. Requirements may also be imposed that the driver has special training or that the company has a safety advisor for transport of dangerous goods.
