Alarm Installation

If your business installs, repairs, or modifies alarm systems, you need a permit from the Police Authority (Polismyndigheten). This applies to all professional alarm installation work, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, and access control systems. Security companies (bevakningsföretag) authorized by Länsstyrelsen are exempt from this requirement.

Both the permit holder and all employees working with alarm installation must be individually approved. The assessment covers criminal record checks and personal suitability. You must include a company registration certificate from Bolagsverket with your application. The Police Authority supervises alarm installation businesses and can revoke permits.
