Notification of Electronic Communications Services (Telephony and Internet)

If your business provides telephony, internet access, or other electronic communications services, you must notify the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) before starting operations. This applies to internet service providers, VoIP operators, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), and similar businesses offering communications services to the public.

After notification, you must pay a processing fee and annual supervision fees to PTS. Registered providers are subject to regulatory requirements under the Electronic Communications Act (2022:482), including consumer protection rules, number portability obligations, and data retention requirements. PTS maintains a public register of all notified providers.
