Drinking Water Connection Request
The drinking water connection request (drinkwateraansluitingsverzoek) is an application to the drinking water company for installing a drinking water connection to a residential or commercial building. Under the Drinking Water Act (Drinkwaterwet), everyone is entitled to a drinking water connection, provided the building meets the legal requirements.
The drinking water company is obliged to realize a connection within a reasonable period. This request is not submitted to the municipality, but directly to the drinking water company active in your region. The costs for installing the connection are charged to the applicant.
Requirements
- Suitable building: The building must be suitable for habitation or business operations and comply with building regulations.
- Accessibility: The drinking water network must be reasonably accessible for connection.
- Ownership or permission: You must be the owner of the property or have written permission from the owner.
- Building drawings: In some cases, you must provide building drawings or a site plan.
Procedure
- Submit request: Submit your request to the drinking water company in your region via their website or contact form.
- Receive quote: The drinking water company prepares a cost estimate for installing the connection.
- Agreement and payment: After agreeing to the quote and payment of the costs, the installation is scheduled.
- Installation of connection: The drinking water company installs the connection according to applicable technical standards and regulations.
- Commissioning: After delivery, the drinking water connection can be put into use.
