Submit Data to the Waste Register
Those who conduct professional activities where hazardous waste occurs must keep records for each type of hazardous waste and digitally report this information to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's (Naturvårdsverket) waste register. This is a statutory obligation under the waste ordinance (avfallsförordningen).
Reporting can be done via API or e-services on Naturvårdsverket's website. Information on the treatment of hazardous waste is reported quarterly, while other information must be submitted within two working days from the date when the record should be made at the latest.
Requirements
- Record-keeping obligation: Operators must keep records for each type of hazardous waste.
- Reporting obligation: Information must be reported digitally to Naturvårdsverket's waste register via API or e-service.
- Representatives: It is possible to submit information through a representative. Contact details for both the representative and the reporting business must then be submitted.
Procedure
- Reporting frequency: Information on the treatment of hazardous waste is reported quarterly. Other information must be submitted within two working days from the date when the record should be made at the latest.
- Reporting method: Reporting is done digitally via e-service on Naturvårdsverket's website or via API.
- Supervision: Naturvårdsverket administers the waste register and exercises supervision.
