Electrical Installation Company

Companies that perform electrical installations in Sweden must register with the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority (Elsäkerhetsverket). Each electrical installation company must have an authorized electrician responsible for the electrical safety of the operations. For companies established in Sweden, the electrician must have authorization from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority. For foreign companies temporarily performing electrical installation services in Sweden, the electrician must have access to the electrician profession in the EEA or Switzerland.

Before registration, the company must have a completed self-monitoring program (egenkontrollprogram) that ensures electrical installations are performed safely and according to applicable regulations. Registration is done via the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority's e-service.

Registration requirements

  • Authorized electrician: The company must have at least one authorized electrician who consents to being registered together with the company.
  • Authorization in Sweden: For companies established in Sweden, the electrician must have authorization from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority.
  • Foreign companies: For temporary electrical installation services in Sweden, the electrician must have access to the electrician profession in the EEA or Switzerland.
  • Self-monitoring program: A completed self-monitoring program (egenkontrollprogram) must exist before registration, but does not need to be submitted to the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority at the time of registration.

  • Supervision: The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority exercises supervision over registered electrical installation companies.
