Permit for Housing with Special Services for Children and Young People (LSS)

The activity is conducted according to Section 9(8) of the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and requires a permit from the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO). Housing with special services for children or young people should be as similar to a home as possible.

Therefore, only a small number of children or young people should live together and the housing should be located in a regular residential building and not in direct connection to other activities according to LSS or the Social Services Act (SoL).

Requirements and Scope

  • Legal basis: The activity is conducted according to Section 9(8) of the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).
  • Target group: Children or young people with disabilities covered by LSS.
  • Design: The housing should be as similar to a home as possible with only a small number of children or young people living together.
  • Location: The housing should be located in a regular residential building and not in direct connection to other activities according to LSS or the Social Services Act.

Application Procedure

  • Application: Application is sent to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO).
  • Permit: Permit from IVO is required to operate the activity.
  • Requirements: The housing must be designed according to LSS and adapted for children and young people.
