Insurance Intermediary
Insurance intermediaries who have received authorization from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) must register with the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket). This applies to both natural and legal persons who professionally mediate insurance.
If you are not tied to an insurance company (tied insurance intermediary), you must first apply for authorization from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. Registration with the Swedish Companies Registration Office must be made within six months after authorization has been obtained from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
Requirements
- Authorization: Valid authorization from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (for non-tied intermediaries)
- Registration deadline: Within 6 months of authorization
- Eligibility: Swedish natural or legal person
Procedure
- Step 1: First apply for authorization from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (if not a tied intermediary)
- Step 2: Complete the notification form for insurance intermediaries from the Swedish Companies Registration Office
- Step 3: Submit notification to the Swedish Companies Registration Office within 6 months of authorization
- Step 4: The Swedish Companies Registration Office registers the intermediary in the register
