Charging Station Request

Residents, entrepreneurs and employees can request a public charging station for electric vehicles from the municipality. This request is submitted to the municipality, which assesses whether the location is suitable for placing a charging station.

After approval of the request by the municipality, the charging station is installed by an energy company, often in cooperation with the municipality. The applicant does not have to install or pay for the charging station themselves; this is arranged by the energy company. The charging station becomes part of the public charging station network.

Requirements

  • Applicant: Resident, entrepreneur or employee in the municipality
  • Location: The proposed location must be suitable for a public charging station
  • Need: There must be sufficient demand for charging facilities in the area
  • Public space: The charging station will be installed in public space

Procedure

  • Application: Submit a request to the municipality for a public charging station
  • Assessment: The municipality assesses the suitability of the location and the need
  • Approval: Upon approval, the energy company is engaged
  • Installation: The energy company (for example Vattenfall) installs the charging station
  • In use: The charging station becomes part of the public network
