ADR Driver Certificate
Drivers who transport dangerous goods by road need an ADR certificate (Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route). This certificate demonstrates that the driver is qualified to safely transport dangerous goods.
To obtain the ADR certificate, you must complete an approved training course and pass an examination. The certificate is issued by CBR (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen), the Dutch driving test organisation. The certificate is valid for five years, after which you must pass a refresher examination to renew it.
Requirements
- Training: Successful completion of a recognized ADR course
- Exam: Passing the ADR exam at a recognized examination institute
- Driver's license: Valid driver's license for the vehicle type used to transport dangerous goods
- Legal basis: ADR article 8.2.1.1
Procedure
- Take course: Enroll in a recognized ADR course at a certified training institute
- Take exam: Take the ADR exam at a recognized examination institute
- Apply for certificate: After passing the exam, the ADR certificate is issued
- Validity: The certificate is valid for 5 years and must be renewed thereafter
