Swimming Facility Notification

For operating a swimming facility, a notification must be submitted under Article 15.50 of the Environmental Activities Decree (Besluit activiteiten leefomgeving). A swimming facility is a location designated or used for swimming, such as a swimming pool, natural pool, or public water designated as bathing water.

The notification must be submitted to the competent authority, depending on the type of swimming facility. For commercial swimming pools, this is often the province or national government; for public bathing waters, this may be the municipality or province. The notification is intended to ensure the safety and hygiene of the swimming facility.

Requirements

Procedure
