Environmental Permit for Environmental Plan Activities

You need an environmental permit for environmental plan activities (omgevingsplanactiviteit) when your planned activity requires permission under the municipal environmental plan (omgevingsplan). This can include construction, renovation, changes of use, or other activities that deviate from the plan rules. Since the Environment and Planning Act (Omgevingswet) took effect, the omgevingsplan replaces the old zoning plan.

Check the Vergunningcheck on the Omgevingsloket to determine if your activity requires a permit. The municipality is the responsible authority and assesses whether your activity fits within the omgevingsplan or whether a deviation can be justified.

Requirements

  • Permit check: Check via the Omgevingsloket whether a permit is required for your activity
  • Environmental plan: The activity must require a permit according to the municipal environmental plan
  • Activity description: Detailed description of the planned activity and any deviation from the environmental plan
  • Drawings and documents: Depending on the activity, construction drawings, photos, or other documents may be required

Procedure

  • Application: The permit or object permit is applied for via the digital Omgevingsloket with DigiD or eHerkenning
  • Assessment: The municipality assesses whether the activity fits within the environmental plan
  • Procedure: Usually the regular procedure applies; in specific cases the extended procedure
  • Decision: You will receive a decision on the permit application
