Foundation Repair Subsidy
The foundation repair subsidy (funderingsherstelsubsidie) is a municipal subsidy for owners of buildings with foundation problems. Many older buildings in the Netherlands have wooden pile foundations that can rot due to changing groundwater levels, leading to subsidence and cracks in the structure.
The municipality offers support through the foundation desk (funderingsloket) for investigating and repairing foundation problems. This includes information, guidance and advice on foundation investigations and foundation repairs, as well as financial support in the form of a subsidy. The scheme differs per municipality and is laid down in a municipal subsidy regulation.
