Notification of the Storage of Fireworks in Connection with a Sale

If you sell fireworks at a retail location, you must notify the local rescue authority about the storage at least one month before placing fireworks in storage. The notification covers category F2, F3 and P1 pyrotechnic products stored for retail sale purposes. The rescue authority inspects the sales point and issues a decision on whether to approve the operations.

The person responsible for fireworks sales must have sufficient knowledge of fireworks properties and regulations, and must pass a qualification test arranged by Tukes (the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency). Fireworks must be stored so that the public has no access to them, and storage facilities must be kept locked. The rescue department conducts annual inspections of retail premises selling fireworks.
